Thursday’s Child played CresFest 2024

Thursday’s Child is a 5-piece vocal band who specialise in high quality a cappella singing and storytelling.  Launching onto the Australian music scene in 2019, Thursday’s Child draws on influences from around the world to create a fresh, exciting sound. The stirring sound of unaccompanied voices, exquisitely harmonised folk songs and earthy storytelling brin “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda” struck the hearts of thousands of listeners, with Eric Bogle himself saying “Absolutely exquisite…..you took my song and lifted it far above what my poor pen tried to say all those years ago. Only the best of musicians can do this, please accept my admiration and grateful thanks.” Thursday’s Child have performed at the Melbourne International Singers Festival, the National Celtic Festival, the “Big Sing” with the Melbourne Youth Chorale, Wyreena music cafe, and staged their own concert series, both as Thursday’s Child as the sole act, and in collaboration with other professional a cappella ensembles.
