Rhiz & The Sugarplums played CresFest 2024

Rhiz & The Sugarplums are a (mostly-female) retro four-piece rockabilly/rock’n’roll/country band from Melbourne and Camperdown (VIC). The band includes Rhiannon McArthur, “Rhiz”, Pete Daffy, Jordy Hickey and Mandy Keating. As a band, their mission is to recreate an authentic 1950s feel with their original songs. Rhiz & The Sugarplums manage to revive an infectious genre of music from a long-gone era, capturing a rare nostalgic groove that’s hard to resist. d. From folk festivals, to regional town dance clubs and to some of Melbourne’s most intimate venues, Rhiz and the Sugarplums have been well received by a wide range of audiences. Earlier this year they were awarded the Troubadour Foundation’s “Best New Act” Award at The 2023 Newstead Live festival. They will launch their debut album (produced by the one-and-only Luke Plumb) at Cres Fest 2024!
